Howdy, Today I want to spotlight one of my favorite herbal treats—hibiscus tea, I used to think that it was the ornamental flowers that grew in our yard when I was a kid growing up in Florida, but it’s not.  It’s the calyxes of the Hibiscus sabdariffa plant, it’s also known as Roselle. Harvested by hand when they're ripe and juicy, these calyxes create a robust, crimson brew with a tart taste reminiscent of cranberry. These Jack Tales are my thought and opinions, musings and reflections on our teas and how we make them and why we make them - that is why I and we do this and made The Original Jack Tea for you.

Hopefully they embody and express to some extent the experience and learning that I have accumulated about health and wellness as it relates to herbs in general and “teas” specifically. With all my heart I believe in and have come to know during my life’s journey that nature and natural remedies are often ones that can and do provide not just some alternative but what is in the end the better choice after all.

My intention is not to provide “advice”, per se - although I will admit at times it could seem that I’m am. But make no mistake, what I am really doing is just relating and sharing my own experiences and knowledge. Take it or leave it. You are as we all are free to come to your own conclusions about these things and in fact all things - based on our own experience and understanding.
